1-2. Ishikiri-san, for health and fighting off diseases
As the god of Denbo (a Kansai dialect word for boils), this shrine is very popular among those who come to make a wish to ward off cancer. It is especially famous for its “hyakudo” (hundred times worship). The power spot is said to be stronger in the Kaminomiya rather than the main shrine, but be careful if you are not comfortable walking a bit. (It would take about 30 minutes…)
Hyakudo-sairi means to pray in front of the main shrine, return to the entrance, and pray in front of the main shrine again, repeating a hundred times. It is also called stepping a hundred times, but you can do it as many times as you can! It is said that by praying single-mindedly, you will be touched by the earnestness of your visit.

There are eight shrines within the precincts of the shrine, and Shigino Shrine is the last of the eight, standing quietly at the far end of the grounds. Generally, “two claps, two claps, one clap,” but at Izumo Taisha, it is “two claps, four claps, one clap. Why four beats? Hatsumode (New Year’s visit to a shrine) is often associated with a lot of people… I was not so keen on Hatsumode because I too was not very fond of crowds. But there are also hidden spots here!
4-1. Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, for a prosperous business
What! Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, famous for its Ebessan? I thought so too. The shrine is very crowded with people when it comes to Tokaebisu, but outside of the Tokaebisu period, there are surprisingly few people there! Even if you usually avoid the shrine because of the image of Tokaebisu, you should definitely visit the shrine during a different period to receive the blessing of increased money!

4-2. Shitennoji Temple, built by Prince Shotoku
Shitennoji Temple has really spacious temple grounds, so it is recommended for those who do not like crowds. The unusual thing about this Shitennoji temple is that there are no religious sects. In other words, anyone can go there as long as they are Buddhist! There are many halls, and the three-faced Daikokuten (god of fortune) is also enshrined here, which is known as the strongest in the world for achieving one’s wishes, prosperity of descendants, and prosperity in business. 4-3. Hiraoka Shrine, the Gate of Laughter
What the gods did in front of Iwato to bring out Amaterasu Omikami, who was hidden in Iwato in Japanese mythology. That is Hiraoka Shrine, which has a wonderful episode of laughing. Because of the many deities enshrined, many people visit here to improve their overall luck. Here, as at Kasuga-taisha Shrine, visitors are offered water by a deer, the messenger of the gods. After that, it is said that your wish will come true if you stroke the “Nade Deer (Kami-Deer)” on the approach to the shrine.

5-1. Naritasan Fudoson, pray for your vehicle

Ordinary Prayer – reading sutras and exorcism
Special prayer: purification by burning a fire of goma while reading sutras.

Osaka’s greatest five-ring pagoda is the grave of Tadatomo Honda. It is said that Tadatomo, who died in battle as a result of his unparalleled love of alcohol, vowed to “help those who would destroy themselves in the future.” Due to this legend, many people suffering from alcoholism and their families visit the temple. Around the grave of Honda Tadatomo, there are many “Shamojis” with words of prayer written on them.
