【Exciting!An actual experience museum】Let’s go to CUPNOODOLES MUSEUM!

Hankyu Electric Railway has 3 lines from Umeda Osaka to Kyoto,Takarazuka and Kobe.I took an express train in Hankyu Takarazuka Line about 20 minutes to Ikeda Station.Ikeda city is located in south west aea in Osaka and it is calm area surrounded nature such as a little high mountain called Satsukiyama.This is off topic,but Ichizo Kobayashi who created Hankyu Electric Railway lived in there.

From Ikeda Station of Hankyu Electric Railway go towards southwest about 5 minutes walk and you will see suddenly stately buildings in a residence.Instant Ramen Museum has been hold by Nissine Food Product which invented instant noodle for the first time in the world in November 1999.Now the name has been changed it is called CUPNOODLE MUSEUM.

Yes!As you know of Chicken Ramen from Nisshin,it is instant noodles for the first time in the world.

But how come it is in Ikeda city?
Momofuku Ando who is a creator and an inventor of Nisshin Food Product lived in Ikeda city and he invented Chicken Ramen in his yard.So that’s why Ikeda city in Osaka is birthplace of instant noodles.

You will see the statue of the late Momofuku Ando holding Chicken Ramen at the center of the museum.Anyway it is amazing that it has produced 2 famous heroes,Ichizo Kobayashi as a creator of Hankyu Electric Railway and Momofuku Ando as a creator of Nisshin Food Product.

Then I will introduce fascination of instant noodles. I made my own cup noodle at the time.

1.Instant Noodles Tunnel

When you enter the museum you will see a tunnel of instant noodles which packages of instant noodles sold by Nisshin Food Product cover over the passage for display.Instant noodles have been evolving since Chicken Ramen was invented for more than half of centuries.

There are about 800 kinds of packages in the tunnel.

You would get excited like “Aww! I know this noodle!” or “I’ve tried this one!”

2.The Birth of Chicken Ramen

There is a shed for Mr.Ando to research instant noodles truly despicted at the center in 1st floor.People might imagine he would have been having a difficult time with development of noodles when they see lots of tools inside.This shed makes me feel strongly if we have passions to make it work and some idea,we can accomplish for sure.

3.Momofuku Ando and the story of Instant Noodles

A result of research by Mr.Ando, he saw the light at the end of tunnel on invention of Chicken Ramen on March 5th 1958.I’ve looked with relish at the displays of history of Nisshin Food Product up to the present.When you see them,you would think like “ wow I didn’t know that!” and It is very interesting story.

You can learn easily history of instant noodles with pictures,movies and interesting mechanics that makes doors and handles work for even kids.

4.Magical table

This table sets questions about instant noodles which is 5 questions.If you get 4 right out of 5,you would get wonderful gift.So it is worth trying!

5.CUPNOODLES Drama Theater

CUPNOODOLES has been sold in 1971.You can watch movies of history of invasion and development of them at the theater shaped like a Cup Noodle.It is for 13 minutes with animation and CG so that it’s easy to explain it for even kids.

6.My CUPNOODLES Factory

It is the best part in the museum to make your own Cup Noodle.I’ve tried it.

It costs 300 yen for one.You can get it from vending machine.

You can draw anything you want on the cup.I drew kururun as the mascot character,we love Osaka.It did it well.It is totally your own CUPNOODOLES.

You can choose a soup from 4 types and 4 toppings from 12 types to make your own CUPNOODOLES.You might think it’s not enough to call it your original CUPNOODOLES but actually there are 5460 ways of combinations.Is that great?!

You can see they packaged with clear films in front of you.

You can put them in the package and finished.

7.Instant Noodles in the world

This displays are great!Fist instant noodle is Chicken Ramen and CUPNOODOLES was invented by Nisshin Food Product.Then they spread throughout the world and now people from 80 countries eat more than one billion noodles per a year.There are CUPNOODOLES sold with their original packages in the world.I realized again CUPNOODOLES is common foods in the world.

8.Tasting Room

You can try area limited CUPNOODOLES that aren’t sold at any stores in this room.

You can also try “Dombe” with Hokkaido area limited and western Japan area limited.They are good for souvenir.

Very popular Cup-Noodles from JAL called “RAMEN de SKY” and “SOBA de SKY” are sold there.

9.Chicken Ramen Factory

One more things you would want is to make Chicken Ramen in 2nd floor.You can make Chicken Ramen from scratch! At first,knead dough and roll out it and steam it.And then add seasonings to adjust taste and dry it with oil with special way.So you can experience these processes above.You can experience to make instant noodles with same processes as Mr.Ando, an inventor did.That would make you feel like saying “Thank you Chicken Ramen for being born!”

10.History of Momofuku Ando

There is an exhibition booth of history of Momofuku Ando since 1964 to 2007,for 94 years.You will see his long history including as an inventor of Chicken Ramen and Cup Noodle and a creator of Nisshin Food Product.

There are items you are able to get only here in this store.Original items of this museum,goods of mascot characters,Hiyoko chan and books about Momofuku Ando and instant noodle are sold.Please get them for a good memory.

You have a memory of being told by your mother to wait for 3 minutes.Chicken Ramen you were excited to eat.CUPNOODOLES you had everyday.You will never know such a deep history until you come to visit there.You would be surprised that CUPNOODOLES have been eaten in the world.
