I perticipated in Taikenhaku(Trial Expo) Ebisubashi-Suji Shopping Street “recommended from connoisseurs of Minami famous stores and restaurants for lunch time.”

There is shopping street called Ebisubashi-Suji Shopping Street in Osaka Namba. This is the area called Minami in Osaka. Recently it has been busy with tourists from overseas.
This shopping street is with shopping arcades with about 370m that expended South to North,from Takashimaya Osaka brunch to Ebisu.
The history is old and it established at Edo era and developed as modern shopping street in 1913. It has more than 100 years history. In contact to Kita area around Osaka Umeda, there are many stores with long history in there.
“Taikenhaku(Trial Expo)“ is hold by Ebisubashi-Suji Shopping Street.It has been held every spring and fall since 2010, and you can have experiences of trials at famous stores and trial of beauty salon or cosmetics store and so on more than 20 courses.
This time, I participated in experimental tour “recommended from connoisseurs of Minami famous stores and restaurants for lunch time.”

A vice of manager of “Namba Marui” Mr.Omi guided us

A vice of manager of Namba Marui, where it is located at the entrance of Ebisubashi-Suji Fashion Street from Namba, Mr.Omi was the guide. Also Mr.Yamamoto from a secretariat of Ebisubashi-Suji Fashion Street guided us too.
On that day we got together at Namba Marui. 8 people chosen from those who applied participated.
Everybody walk with a map. Then let’s see what kinds of great store they have and what kinds of great restaurant they have. It’s exciting.

Ura Namba

Recently Ura Namba is popular. There are many great restaurants in a narrow lane.
They tell you this restaurant has great foods and reasonable, and this restaurant is popular for young women and so on.
People participated took pictures of that restaurants said let’s go there sometime.
There are many restaurants always people are in line. It says this place has only 10 dishes and always a long line.
This experimental tour has started since 11 am. We have been guided only great restaurants so far. While walking can smell something delicious and makes me hungry.

Also there are many reasonable restaurants too. Pizza is just 270 yen.
We have been walking around and around the town and we get a lost. We really need a guide.
This is popular for local people,Okonomiyaki restaurant. It’s always busy.
Today is closed but this is famous for a long time Sukiyaki restaurant Honsekiguchi. This is obviously great because meat store to the next place offers their meat. And also this croquets are reasonable and great.(too bad it’s not open today.)
We have more recommend restaurants.
Next to this Udon noodle restaurant you can enjoy seasonal taste called Do-tonbori Imai is such a narrow lane. It has nice ambiance. This lane looks like only a few people knows.

Go to Hozenji Yokocho

We head out to Hozenji Yokocho. This place looks really nice with stone pavements. Hozenji Yokocho is very popular for foreign tourists. They have stores which has been on the Michelin Guide or you would like to pick up for anniversary or special events.

This is Fudo which is the symbol of Hozenji Yokocho called Mizukake-Fudosan. Many people come visit to the shrine everyday.

At lunchtime we head out to Ebiya at Hozenji Yokocho

Here is the time for the last event of this experimental tour, having a lunch at Hozenji Yokocho Ebiya. It is located at the entrance of Hozenji Yokocho and is three stories high. It has great lobster dishes for lobster lovers.
They showed us a room on the 3rd floor. This room is used for special occasions. The owner told us about history of Ebiya and his particular about this room.
They served special lunch to us.
This deep fried lobster looks good. I want to eat it.
You can see Mizukake Fudosan through the window abc it’s amazing. It would be nice if you sit there and enjoy drinking.

Summary

This time I participated in experiential tour Ebisubashi – Suji Shopping Street “recommended from connoisseurs of Minami famous stores and restaurants for lunch time” and they showed me many famous restaurants. I thought it is the best way to know many great spots from local people.
I found many restaurants I would love to visit.
And finally this is the lunch menu at Ebiya that those who participated were eating. It looked so good so I ordered it later. It was actually tasty because of deep fried lobster was fresh.
