The facilities provide more open space and aren’t as full of people as more traditional tourist spots in Osaka. So in this article, we will introduce athletic facilities that both children and adults can enjoy, from the popular athletic towers to authentic athletic experiences in nature!

1. HEART THROB|Sennan Rinku Park
Heart Throb is an athletic facility with a spectacular view located in the activity area of Sennan Long Park, which opened in July 2020.This athletic facility has four levels with more than 100 different missions. The top level is a whopping 15.5 meters above the ground!
You can enjoy thrilling and challenging athletic activities. There is also an observation deck at the top that does not require a safety belt, where you can view Osaka Bay and Kansai International Airport.

2. Expo BEAST|Expo Memorial Park
“Expo BEAST” opened in March 2020
The world’s largest athletic tower has opened at Expo Commemorative Park!This is a four-level facility with more than 120 different attractions, including climbing, zip lines, slack lines, and more. It is a whopping 24 meters high!The foot-swinging height of the attraction is sure to be a thrilling experience! There is also an observatory (Sky Corridor) on the top floor here, so you can fully enjoy the nature in the park.
Last March, a giant three-dimensional athletic maze, “Labyrinth Fortress,” opened in the same Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, so you can enjoy a full day there.

3. ORA! WOO! TAN!|Harvest Hill
Introducing Aerial athletic ORA! WOO! TAN! You can enjoy 29 activities such as the zigzag bridge and skysurfing.The athletic facilities here are characterized by the fact that they are divided into three different courses, allowing visitors to enjoy them according to their level. In addition to athletic activities, there is a 33-meter-long zip line and a mini bungee jump (Quick Jump) from a height of 6 meters, which can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

About 10 minutes on foot from each line of Tennoji Station, you can enjoy athletics in the city center here “PANZA TEN-SHIBA i: na.” At this facility, you can enjoy indoor climbing and the athletic field.You can have fun with friends and family while competing against each other!Outdoor athletic “sorarun!” allows you to enjoy courses up to 8 meters high. You can decide which course you want to go on, so you are sure to discover something different and exciting every time! What’s more, there is no time limit. *Reservations have priority, so it is recommended to make a reservation.

5. Maishima Skynet Adventure|Maishima BBQ Park
First in Kansai! Maishima Skynet Adventure,” a safety net-type aerial athletic facility, will open in March 2020! It features safe and secure athletic activities that can be enjoyed without the need for safety belts. There are no height, weight, or age restrictions, so even small children can play. *Preschool children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

6. Adventure Park Bouken|Nose
Adventure Park Bouken is located on the former site of the Osaka Prefectural Outdoor Activity Center (site area: approx. 80,000 m2), where you can enjoy a spectacular athletic experience filled with nature!
Taking advantage of the forest itself, visitors can enjoy three main programs: the “Adventure Course,” an adventure between trees more than 10 meters above the ground, the “Challenge Course,” which even children can enjoy, and the “Forest Segway Tour,” a guided Segway ride through the forest to see the highlights of nature. The “Forest Segway Tour” is a guided tour through the forest on a Segway.You can also experience one of the longest mega-ziplines in Japan, “Teppo,” which crosses over a pond. The distance is 517 meters! The long zip in the middle of nature is exhilarating! Please try it for yourself!

7. Takatsuki Field Athletics|Takatsuki City
Takatsuki Field Athletics is an athletic facility where athletic facilities are built on the slope of a mountain, allowing visitors to exercise while enjoying nature. Two courses are available: the “Historic Site Course,” which even children can enjoy safely, and the “Folk Tale Course,” which is a little more advanced.Photo credit: Instagram
Athletic activities in the “Historic Site Course” are named after historical sites, such as boat-pulling and haniwa-kuguri, and the movements are linked to the names. In the “Folktale Course,” visitors can experience climbing Hageyama (bald mountain), playing Naruko, and other activities that are in line with folk tales. There is also a place for barbecues, so it is recommended to visit the park as if camping. Reservations are required for barbecues.
