【Guide by pictures 】Guide for the ticket gate of Osaka Metro Midosuji Line at Umeda Station and underground shopping area in Umeda.

The areas around Osaka Station and Umeda station are one of the representative downtown in Japan. There are dense of department stores, stations, hotels and underground shopping areas, which is very complicated.

Especially underground shopping area is called “Umeda dungeons” and it is literally complicated like a labyrinth.

Based on the above, today I would like to show you to the ticket gate of Osaka Metro Midosuji Line at Umeda Station.

Osaka Metro Midosuji Line runs underground of main street “Midosuji” in Osaka: from Esaka Station, Suita-shi Osaka via Osaka city to Nakamozu Station, Kita-ku Sakai-shi Osaka. The most people use this Line in subway.

There are 4 ticket gates in Midosuji Line Umeda Station: North Gate, Naka-Kita-Nishi Gate, Naka-Minami Gate, South Gate.

(If you go through Naka-Kita-Nishi Gate or Naka-Minami Gate, you would go out the same exit.)

I would like to show you some places where you could easily access to by each gates.

Midosuji Line Umeda Station, North Gate

This is the North Gate

Direction to Hankyu Umeda Station • Hankyu Sanban Gai

If you go through the gate and turn the right, you could easily access to Hankyu train • Hankyu Sanban Gai.

After you go through the gate, turn right and go straight.

Going up the hill and keep walking straight.

You will go out into the spread area.There are escalators to Hankyu Sanban Gain in the front and to Hankyu Umeda Station in the back.

This is Hankyu Sanban Gai.

You can go to Hankyu Umeda Station from here.

Direction to Yodobashi Camera Umeda.

Go towards the left and you will see Yodobashi Camera Umeda.

After you go through the gate, turn left and go straight. You will see Yodobashi Camera Umeda on the right side.

This is the entrance.

Midosuji Line Umeda Station, Naka Gate (Naka-Kita-Nishi Gate•Naka-Monami Gate)

If you go though Naka-Kita-Nishi Gate or Naka-Minami Gate, you would go out the same exit. This time I’ll show you in the case you go through

Naka-Minami Gate.

This is Naka-Kita Gate.

This is Naka-Minami Gate. This is supposed to be where you would exit the Naka-Minami Gate and we will start from the point so please be careful with the direction.

Direction to Hankyu Department Store.

If you go through the gate and turn right, you could easily access to Hankyu Department Store.

If you don’t enter to Hankyu Department Store and go through the street on left side, you could get to HEP Five or Hankyu Men’s Osaka.

Direction to Midosuji Gate at JR Osaka Station • Crost

If you go through the gate and turn left, Midosuji Gate at JR Osaka Station would be close for you.

If you go towards the direction of the red arrow, you would see Midosuji Gate at JR Osaka Station. If you go towards the direction of the blue arrow, you would get to the underground shopping area “Crost”.

If you go towards the direction of the red arrow, you would see escalators. So please go up the escalator.

After you go up to the top, turn left and go straight.

Keep walking straight and you will see Midosuji Gate at JR Osaka Station.

If you go through the ticket gate and go towards the direction of the blue arrow, you could go to the underground shopping area “Crost”.

Go through Cross and you will see the Central  Gate at JR Osaka Station, Sakurabashi Gate at JR Osaka Station and Nishi-Umeda.

Midosuji Line of Umeda Station    South Gate

This is the South Gate.

You will see the area which is the center of underground shopping area in Umeda.

And it’s easy to get to Tanimachi Line of the Osaka Municipal Subway, Yotsubashi Line of the Osaka Municipal Subway, Hanshin Electric Railway, Hankyu Department Store, Hanshin Department Store and Whity Umeda.

Direction to Hanshin Department Store • Hanshin Electric Railway.

After you go through the gate, you will see Hanshin Department Store on the right. If you pass the way on the right side, you would get to Nishi-Umeda.

Umeda Station of Hanshin Electric Railway is on the left side of Hanshin Department Store.

Direction to Whity Umeda

Go straight and you will get to Whity Umeda. Also you can get to Izuminohiroba, Higashi-Umeda Station and Diamor Osaka.

Direction to Hankyu Department Store.

Turn left and go straight and you will see Hankyu Department Store. If you go towards the right back of the department store, you would see an escalator to the ground and get to Hankyu Higashidori Shopping Arcade and Hankyu Higashi-Umeda Station.
