1-2. More spectacular than the real starry sky! Romantic starry sky viewing
The entrance to the planetarium opens ten minutes before each show. We selected the “Secret History of the Starry Sky” program, and the planetarium hall, which can accommodate 300 people, was full. This shows how popular it is. This is what the inside of the planetarium hall looks like.Photography is only allowed before the planetarium starts projecting. The ephemeral blue lights spread all over the planetarium create a fantastic atmosphere allowing you to enjoy the planetarium while reclining in the comfortable seats. The star-filled sky projected on one of the world’s largest domes is spectacular! Starting with an explanation of the starry sky visible at night in Osaka and the moon visible today, a curator will carefully explain the history of the constellations.
2. Recommended Lunch/Cafes near Osaka Science Museum
There are stores for lunch and cafes inside the Osaka Science Museum, but they are often crowded, so it is recommended to take a break somewhere nearby in the neighborhood. We recommend North Shore, located a minute’s walk from the Science Museum. A very popular cafe in Kitahama is now also available in Nakanoshima, perfect for a short break.

6. Summary
How was it? We introduced the attractions of the Osaka Science Museum, the highlight being its massive planetarium. The starry sky projected on the huge hall is more beautiful and impressive than the real starry sky. If possible, it is best to enter early, 10 minutes before the start time, and sit in the middle of the hall so you can see a more beautiful 360-degree starry sky in all directions.
We visited around noon on a national holiday, but we were able to purchase tickets for the 16:00 session even on the same day, so it is okay if you decide to go see the show on short notice. We hope you visit the planetarium of the Osaka Science Museum after reading this article.
